Wed 22 Nov 2006

Less than an hour ago the schoolbus driver called to say they have decided the roads are too icy and there is a storm on its way, so they will not be bringing the kids home this afternoon. I walked carefully out to the road to see for myself; you can tell by the photo that it's pretty slick out there. Apparently it started raining at 4 a.m. and carried on for several hours. Now that the thermometer has dropped to 10 or 20 below, it's treacherous to drive.

Scott is working in town and will make his way home no matter what, so is going to pick up the boychiks. Let's hope they make it here safe and sound. At this rate, the buses may not be running tomorrow either. Everett will be thrilled to get an extra day off, and I'll be happy to have the boys home. I've almost got my fingers crossed. (Perhaps we won't mention that to the teachers, eh?)
