Twenty-Six Things

Saturday
9:32 a.m.

I am waiting for the long version of Marya’s 26Things to download, and already viewing the first picture and reading the poem beside it, I am smiling and anticipating passing some lovely leisurely time perusing some of the beauty that living has to offer.

9:51 a.m.
Ah well. Couldn’t get the Expando Long Version to display any more than the first picture and its poem-cutline.

But I love Marya's journal. And Marya.

And this wavy line someone put in their sigfile.

There are two beastly bovines eating the long grass in the trees around our house. Seeing them there is a treat; I like them. Soon they'll be moved to the other side of the yard.

What would you like to see a picture of, around here?
Taking requests.

All Dressed Up, No Place to Go

It's another hot one.
Grandma, Aunt Ada, and Jill met me at the Little Old House Café for lunch, and then back they went toward our home town, and off I went -- out to the lake.

Here it was, 30 degrees if I'm a day, and there was one single, solitary soul on the beach . . . me.

I stepped out of my sandals and went for a little wade in the water. It's best when the water feels warm like bathwater. No shocking cold for this chick, thanks.

It was divine. I'd have stayed all day if I'd had the sense to wear my bathing suit under my clothes, or at least brought it along and some comfy shorts so I could've sprawled on the beach.

But no, I had to be wearing a pair of lady shorts Mom bought me years ago, which I don't think I've ever worn because they were too dressy, too if - I - wear - them - they'll - get - a - stain - for - sure light-coloured. I left them for an occasion when I'd want to dress up more than usual.

Today was such a day, as it was a bit of an occasion to go out with the two old gals and buy them a meal. And Jill too, of course.
