I have been out of bed for one hour, at the computer, drinking black coffee.

My plan: work all day.
No; work all afternoon.

This morning will be bath, breakfast, and a short ramble in the great outdoors.

I got my boycut. Loverboy doesn’t think it looks like one, but I do. Love it. Short and sweet.

Easter Monday
3 p.m.

Ah, screw it.

I sat down here an hour-and-a-half ago to make myself get some work done after Clever was here since 10:00, and then more company came. So we’ve been out on the deck, having a beer and jawing. I said to myself when I saw them pull up: Oh, never mind. Take the day off.

Gotta get at ’er.
But not today.

6 p.m.
Been for the most soundful walk around the outer perimeter of the farmyard. Stood on the biggest round rock and turned slowly in a circle over and over again, taking in the fields, trees, and sky. Sat down against a warm golden bale and listened to the calls of birds I can’t identify among those I can — crows, hawks, geese, ducks. Frogsongs filled the near distance of every direction.

Wow. Transcendent. What a little Saskatchewan sun and springtime won't do.
