Gettin Behind

Thursday:
Finally took my winter tumble. I used to joke that every year I slip on the ice and fall on my ass at least once, but I don’t, really. Till today. I was walking down the driveway with Chester, bringing him back from our little afternoon stroll, when I went ass over teakettle, landing first on my butt and then whacking the back of my head on the hardpacked icy road. My head spun, I got up moistened by a few tears, and took Chester the rest of the way to his doghouse.

Seems I am okay and no side effects. For a while there I was afraid of a headache or stiff neck, but I feel fine -- if more tired and yawny than before I went out. I guess tonight will tell the tale.

Friday:
I fell and whacked my head. If there is a message in this, I hope to “get” it.

Do I have to be hit in the head to get the picture?

Do I have some waking up to do?

From Louise Hay’s book, You Can Heal Your Life:

“Probable mental cause:
Accidents -- Inability to speak up for the self. Rebellion against authority. Belief in violence.”

New thought pattern:
I release the old pattern in me that created this. I am at peace. I am worthwhile.”

Well, yesterday I had spoken up for myself, as usual, but I was weary of having to assert myself and face an unpleasant response.

I am studying the Legend/Arthurian tarot cards, and drawing from the Higher Arcana, which is the ‘suit’ of cards that embodies the spiritual lessons to be learned. Today I asked “What do I most need to know?”

The card I pulled was VI The Lovers, in this deck also known as Gareth & Lyones.

“Theirs is a secure love of equal partners who choose each other’s company of their own free will. A warm breeze flows through the leaves of the trees, reflecting the gentle nature of the love and affection Gareth and Lyones have for one another. The peacock butterflies symbolize the beauty and ecstasy of this dusty, dreamlike state.

The sword is a reminder that there are dangers amidst this beauty. Though love can exalt, when lost it can devastate...

The love of Gareth and Lyones was a true love.”

 Saturday:

Don and I drove to Grandma’s after school yesterday and he stayed there to spend the night, and L’s son /w girlfriend arrived while I was away. The front of my neck hurts. The word whiplash has been proffered.

Sunday:
I feel a bit like this little brass woman these days, frosty frost frost et al. She stands lookout over the kitchen sink.
