Parched Earth

9:35 a.m.

Ah, who would ever think I would welcome a cool, cloudy day? But I do, I greet it with delight when I come up the stairs in the morning. We’ve had “half a tenth” of rain over the past week, while grey skies have teased but not delivered. I still have my faith that the rain will come, and I hope it is not poorly placed. The earth and crops around here need a drink.

A very light rain is falling. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
