Great Paintings Locked In

~ at Muenster, Saskatchewan ~

On the way to the city we stopped in the parking lot of the church where Imhoff’s paintings are. We didn’t expect the door to be unlocked, and it wasn’t, so the boys ate their sandwiches in the van parked in the shade of the tall trees framing the front, and Farmbeau and I headed off, sandwiches in hand, in opposite directions, meeting around back of the building and each continuing on our merry way.

How this worldfamous painter ended up covering the interior walls with huge religious murals is just outside of my memory’s grasp of the local history, but I did walk through the church once several years ago and was awed.
