The clouds above were seen a couple years ago. I needed a photo in order to post now, before I head out for the afternoon. The digital camera batteries just died and need recharging.

Dennis Lakusta arrived late last night and is giving a presentation on racism to the grades 11 and 12 classes at the high school in town, and I'm going to go along. Tonight he's giving a house concert at Scott's aunt's place, so I'm not going to have a chance to get back here to make the Big Announcement:

We have a new baby in the family!!

Dad called early this morning to say that Joan gave birth to a 6-lb, 1-oz boy last night at 10:30. I was told they are calling him Daniel Benson McEwan, but that is not for sure. They're still thinking about it.

I talked to Joan last night around suppertime. She’d been out and bought groceries for a meal she was going to make, and then her husband had called to say his “big bosses” were in town and had invited him out for supper. So she and Trinket were going to have leftovers instead, which was fine with her because she felt tired. “I’m ready to have this baby now,” she said, “I think maybe even tonight or tomorrow.”

“You’d better go have a little snooze then,” I said, “so you’ll have the energy you need, later.”

And looky there!

So Mom's dream came true: she has another grandson. In the dream, she was upset because this little boy didn't know who she was. She introduced herself— "I'm your grandma!" and the two of them had a nice little visit.

New bird of the day: the Willet. Just saw two of them down at the creek, feeding along the water’s edge. Had to come home and look in the book to identify them.
