darn, i only got a short blast of sunshine and then it is horrifying, a half-hour of those stories <>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><><><><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<> Barney and I went to town to lunch with Farmbeau, Waldorf (a neighbour who is working with him these days), and Vincent. Lately Barney always orders a grilled cheese sandwich with fries, then dips the fries into the cheese and thinks it’s a treat. Then groceries, dry cleaner, recycling, bakery, post office, library. Could’t face the bank after all that, or the school, both of which are trips that need making. Besides, there were two gallons of ice cream destined for the deep freeze so we had to get home. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<> I was asked to look after Beckster for a couple hours this afternoon, so she is here and she and Barney are talking and giggling out in the kitchen over peanut butter sandwiches. Don is undressing for his bath. Taking forever; laying across his bed as if exhausted. I just bought $128 worth of groceries, and still don’t know what to make for supper. Barney wanted to buy wieners, so something tells me that’s what it will be. Yick. And leftover spaghetti. Yuck again. Nothing appeals. Even the Chinese food today was crappy — all breading, too much salt on the veggies, and chow mein noodles which don’t interest me at the best of times. I noticed the café across the street serves Vietnamese food. It’s time to give them a try. I haven’t been in there for years. Should at least be able to get spring rolls and a decently flavoured sauce. We were meeting Vincent today, so its high steps were out because of his wheelchair. But next time. <><><><><> Okay, must make sure these kidlets get fed. Please, somebody come and be my cook for a week. Okay, a day. Even a day. ... Link |
